Madison Christina Coventry came into the world with a bang on Wednesday, June 19, 1991.

She is a celestial being with stars in her eyes and water in her blood and returned to them unfairly too soon on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

She left behind her mother Heidi Hazzard, father Chris Coventry, her sister Bailey Robb, her grandparents Sam and Andra Fyffe, her fiance Carlos Leon, her Aunts Stacy Fyffe and Mandy Archer, her cousins Alec and Austin Saikal, her cousin Danny McDonnell, her stepfather Paul Hazzard, her stepmother Lynda Coventry, her stepsister Amy Pearson, her nieces and nephews Sam, Hadley, and Wren Pearson, her chosen family of friends (of which there are just so incredibly many), and her beloved Ruka.

For 32 years and 2 months of my 61 years, Maddy graced us all with her beautiful presence, I was the one lucky man to be her dad, and all of our lives are that much finer for having her essence as part of our own lives. From the first time I saw my daughter, that tiny little baby being transported out of the C-section room; on her way to the NICU, her eyes as blue as the prettiest ocean and almost as wide as the largest ocean, to the moment I hugged and kissed her cheek after lunch with her at work, in her black scrubs the Wednesday before that nightmarish day, she was my peanut! The nursing staff had swaddled Maddy in a blanket, placed the tiniest of beanie hats on her head and I swear, she looked like a little Monkey Nut, weird I know, but, that’s where the name “peanut” came from and it stuck.

Since that moment, her beautiful smiling face lit up my world every time I saw her, no matter the occasion, just to have her close by me was enough, no need for words or small talk, just her being near me, brought me the absolute greatest joy and gratitude a father could ever wish for. She was so very special.

I have so many wonderful, funny, and some, not so funny memories of my beautiful girl, and I could go on for hours, but I spare you all a fathers lament. The comments and photos being shared here are what I will cherish moving forward for the remainder of my days. There’s not a day goes by now; where I don’t see the words “Forever in my heart”, as that tattoo now adorns the inside of my forearm, her signed name in her own handwriting from my fathers day card this year…I see it when I wake, and I see it before the lights go out, Madison will be with me always.

Love you Loads, Dad xxx
